Case Studies

Park Road, Burnham On Crouch

Stage 1

When initially meeting with the clients we discussed in-depth what they were looking for and what would be suitable. They were looking for an increased recreational area of the kitchen, a utility room, decking and a new garage.

As usual we provided the clients with 3D designs on our BIMX software so they were able to visualise the layout and space.

We worked with the our architect, council and building control to get the project approved and ready for the works to commence.

Whilst the project was taking place, they clients requested the house to be rendered, which we included into the schedule for them.

Stage 2

The first stage of the job, was to prepare the ground and foundations for both the extension and garage. We were able to utilise our team and get both done simultaneously to be time and cost effective for the client. New drainage was installed at this point for the utility room.

Once the groundworks and foundations were ready, we were able to start building the extension around the rear of the house, and the garage to the side. Again, both were done at the same time, to utilise our team.

The garage was finished with a pitched roof as per the architects design, to be in keeping with the existing house. Matching side door and window to the extensions and grand new garage doors. The extension was finished with a flat roof with a lantern and bi-fold doors to flood the extension with light. The utility room was also fitted with an external door, for easy entry and access.

Once water tight we were able to screed the floors to the extension, the garage had a mass concrete slab laid to the floor.

At this point we were able to remove the back of the existing house, this was then boarded up to keep the clients current kitchen safe from the building works.

Plastering was now able to commence throughout, the extension, utility and garage.

Stage 3

This stage was to 2nd fix the job.

2nd fix electric and plumbing and heating could now take place throughout. The extension and utility room could be decorated. Karndean floor laid in the kitchen and utility room.

The utility room could now be installed with the units, appliances and worktop.

The decking outside could now be completed to finish the project off.

Stage 4

At the finishing stage, all paperwork was completed and any remedial works carried out. The whole site was then cleared and a cleaning company employed to finish off to a high, professional standard.

Stage 5

On completion of the job, all necessary warranties came into play and the RCM team were on hand for any queries or issues.
