Case Studies

Stortford Road, Dunmow

Stage 1

This project was an ensuite and took 4 1/2 weeks to complete.

With the clients having busy schedules, RCM carried out an Initial site survey to measure the room and gather information about the project; this meeting was also to understand what type of look the clients were aiming to achieve.

On this meeting, we talked budgets so the clients knew approximate costings, without having to wait till the end of the process for costs.

Normally RCM would make further site visits to complete any outstanding points but as the clients couldn’t meet this, RCM worked remotely with the them via email to pick materials and finalise any outstanding items, using our design software (BIMx) which can be viewed on tablets, phones and so on.

This is where the BIMx software, shown in the pictures, helped the clients visualise and ensured that both parties were on the same page with design.

We were able to offer our clients support with regard to design and reconfiguration of the room, to incorporate their design ideas with functionality.

As this job evolved, RCM supplied some of the sanitary wear and clients’ supplied items that they had found online. With the online items, we gave support on the technical issues to make sure the products would work for the room.

Finally, we were able to create the job pack with all the information gathered, which we then used throughout the job to install the ensuite.

Stage 2

First fix involved the prep stage, following the plans created during the initial consultation stage.

This stage had all the bespoke panels made with the 1st fix plumbing, and electrics installed with all valves inset into the walls and tested.

Once the plastering and the electric underfloor heating was installed we had completed 1st fix.

Stage 3

This stage had the tiling and decorating carried out, 2nd fixing of the plumbing & electrics, and installation of the sanitary ware with the shower enclosure.

We also worked on any parts of the room still needing to be finished and siliconed all areas required with different colours, this was to make sure the silicone did not stand out.

Stage 4

At the finishing stage, all paperwork was completed and any remedial works carried out. The whole site was then cleared and a cleaning company employed to finish off to a high professional standard.

Stage 5

On completion of the job, all necessary warranties came into play and the RCM team were on hand for any queries or issues.
